Dr. Dana Kelly
Director, TIMSS and PIRLS Development and Reporting

Dr. Dana Kelly is the director of development and reporting at the TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center, where she oversees the development of the assessments and background questionnaires for TIMSS and PIRLS and the reporting of results for both assessment programs. She has worked on TIMSS and PIRLS and other international assessments since 1994, when she worked on TIMSS 1995 and then later PIRLS 2001 at the International Study Center.

Prior to rejoining Boston College in 2019, Dr. Kelly was Technical Director for Education at Management Systems International, where she led assessment activities for USAID-funded education projects in low- and middle-income countries. She was previously branch chief for international assessments at the National Center for Education Statistics, where she oversaw United States participation in TIMSS, PIRLS, PISA, and other international studies and represented the United States at the IEA General Assembly.

Dr. Kelly has her MA in Developmental and Educational Psychology and her PhD in Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation, both from Boston College.
